Bridal Makeup FAQs & Booking Information
Bridal Makeup Services
Q: When should I book my bridal makeup?
It’s best to reserve your bridal makeup as early as possible—ideally 8 to 12 months before your wedding date. This ensures your date is secured and allows time to schedule your bridal preview.
Q: What’s included in the bridal makeup service?
Each bridal booking includes two makeup applications: your bridal preview at my studio and your wedding-day makeup on location. Every service features a mini facial massage, professional makeup application, false lashes, body glow, and a touch-up kit.
Q: Do you offer bridal trials?
A: I offer bridal previews instead of traditional trials. These previews are designed specifically for booked brides to perfect their makeup look for the big day while also securing my availability.
Q: Can I schedule a bridal preview before officially booking?
A: You can schedule a preview, but please note that your wedding date isn’t secured until a retainer and signed contract are completed. This means there’s a possibility I may no longer be available on your requested date if another bride books in the meantime.
Q: Where are bridal previews held?
Bridal previews take place at my private studio in Royal Oak, MI, where we’ll design your custom bridal look and review all the details for your big day.
Q: How do I secure my date?
To reserve your wedding date, a signed bridal contract and 40% non-refundable retainer are required. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding.
Q: Do you travel on-site for weddings?
Yes — I provide on-location services throughout the Metro Detroit area and beyond. Travel is calculated at $1 per mile round trip, covering travel time, setup, and breakdown. Destination bookings are available upon request.
Q: What if I have a large bridal party?
For parties of seven (7) or more, a secondary artist may be brought in to ensure everyone is ready on time. A $125 secondary artist fee applies to cover their time, kit, and coordination.
Studio Appointments
Q: Where are studio appointments held?
All studio services—including makeup, facials, and brows—are held at Glam by Phalia Studios in Royal Oak, MI.
Q: What is the difference between studio and on-site bridal makeup?
Studio bridal makeup is held exclusively at my Royal Oak location and follows separate booking policies.
On-site bridal makeup includes travel to your wedding location and a more tailored timeline experience for you and your bridal party.
Q: How can I book a studio appointment?
Studio appointments can be booked directly through the “Book” tab on my website. Bridal services requiring on-location travel should be requested through the “Bridal” tab.
Facials & Brows
Q: Do you offer skin prep or facials for brides?
Yes—all booked brides receive exclusive pricing on facials and brow services leading up to their wedding day. This ensures your skin is healthy, radiant, and perfectly prepped for makeup.
Q: How often should I get facials before my wedding?
For best results, I recommend starting your skincare treatments at least 3–6 months before your wedding. This allows time to address any skin concerns and achieve a naturally glowing complexion.
Policies & Payments
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit/debit cards, Venmo, and Zelle. Cash is not accepted for bridal retainers.
Q: Do you offer touch-ups or second looks?
Yes—on-site touch-up services and look changes are available as an add-on for $120 per hour.
Makeup Experience
Q: What kind of makeup style do you specialize in?
I specialize in skin-focused glam—enhancing your natural features with seamless blending, balanced tones, and a radiant, long-wearing finish that photographs beautifully.
Q: Do you only do bridal makeup?
My skills translate well into photography and modeling (editorial shoots, social media content, headshots), media and entertainment (film, TV, theater, music videos), corporate and professional services (events, conferences, photoshoots), and education (one-on-one lessons, workshops, online sessions).
Q: Do you work with all skin tones and ages?
Absolutely. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of skin tones, textures, and age groups, ensuring every client feels confident and seen.
